A Message From The Chief Executive Officer

Rachel Barratt
Chief Executive Officer
Water Industry Alliance

The management of water is both a challenge and competitive advantage for South Australia.
At a time of global demand and political focus on energy, water and food security, South Australia is well placed to seize the economic benefits of being a living laboratory and
provider of water solutions.

South Australia has strengths in many areas of water resource management which have arisen in part from our dry and variable climate. These capabilities are receiving increased attention from around the world and many countries are now actively looking to South Australia for assistance on their water management challenges.

Recently the WIA presented our Plan to grow the water industry to the South Australian Government.

This plan, referred to as the Water Accelerator Plan outlines the opportunities that could be realised if the South Australian water industry was supported to grow, the barriers currently faced by the industry, and the practical actions that need to be put in place to achieve growth.

Importantly, it also sets out how the WIA can help to facilitate this growth and opportunities within the sector.

For nearly two decades the Water Industry Alliance (WIA) has been working to facilitate the
growth of the industry by growing our members’ businesses and skills and connecting them
to opportunities.

By joining as a WIA member you are joining us as a partner to help grow and promote the industry’s already strong reputation.

Please don’t hesitate to call our friendly team if you have any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you can't find the answer to your question here, please contact Jessica at the Water Industry Alliance office

on 08 7424 2466 or via email

  • q-iconCan we upgrade membership during the year?

Yes! We can adjust your membership to the next level up, you will receive an invoice for the pro rata equivalent  – i.e. if you upgrade from Growth to Leading Edge three months in, you will receive an invoice for nine months of Leading Edge membership, minus the cost of your Growth membership.

  • q-iconCan We Pay Quarterly?

Yes, this is available for Leading Edge membership levels.  We will need to manage this through invoicing, so either contact us directly or select the “Bank Transfer” payment method at online checkout –  and make a note in the order comments that you would like to pay quarterly.

Please be aware there is a slightly higher cost for quarterly payments, to cover our administration costs.

  • q-iconCan I Pay Via Invoice and EFT?

Yes! Just select the Bank Transfer option at Checkout, and we will be in touch with the invoice and banking details.

  • q-iconAre there options for Interstate companies to become members?

We offer an Interstate (Limited) membership, this simplified membership is focussed on our communications offering rather than events, but if you attend one of our SA based events then you are eligible to buy tickets at members pricing.

The Limited membership is $285.00 per year, inclusive of GST.

  • q-iconI'm not sure membership is the right option for us, can we become sponsors?

Yes! For companies that want to increase their profile in the water industry, sponsorship of key events is a great way to show your support.
Contact the Water Industry Alliance to request a copy of our Sponsorship Pack, which outlines the opportunities for your company to get involved with WIA events.
